Waterbugs is a focused educational app about lake ecology and water quality. By examining and analyzing water quality this tool gives the students an interactive and exciting introduction to understanding study based natural science education.
The educational app contains methods of determining water quality from collected animal life in lakes. By deciding animal species and choosing the waterbugs in the app, students are able to evaluate the ecological water quality. Waterbugs includes detailed descriptions and illustrations of the most common waterbugs in lakes. The app is regarded as an invaluable tool in the hands of teachers who want to utilize the advantages of iPads regarding interactive, digital education.
The app is tailored for students to be able to document analysis results as customizable reports which can be sent and printed.
The natural scientific method used in Waterbugs is the same as Danish municipalities use as a tool to evaluate water quality. With this app students are able to demonstrate practical application of biology, which involves experimental laboratory and field work.
By using Waterbugs students will be able to analyze and document their findings in an easy comprehensible and concise manner.
Waterbugs is funded and has been developed in corporation with Kingo Consult ApS to work towards more interesting education in natural science.
