Vectory!

"Vectory!" is an educational game for phones and tablets. Players are introduced to vector calculus through several functions, where they will need to think logically and mathematically to reach the goal.

"Vectory!" is aimed at high school students, but can be played by anyone. In the game we introduce ten different functions that focus on ten separate areas in vector calculus. The player will be introduced to the terms both in space (3D) as well as on a plane (2D).

Vectory is a puzzle game where each level is solved using logic or patience. The player will for instance be introduced to subtraction, as some puzzles must be solved by subtracting one vector from another.

Every level has one or more tasks that needs to be solved. These tasks can be typical math questions, like finding the dot product between two vectors, or a more open assignment, where you use the functions to navigate towards a goal. Besides completing the individual levels you can collect extra points by completing additional tasks, which requires you to think twice about the math problem.

The levels in the game gradually increase in difficulty, at the same time that you get immersed in Vectory's mathematical universe. When you put down the game, you will retain knowledge that can be used not just for the exam, but also in real life.

The game and its content exists thanks to cooperation with Palle Veje Rasmussen, who is a teacher at Ørestads Gymnasium. The game is developed with funding from the department of education, and will be used as a supplement to the math education in high school, or as an early introduction to secondary school students that are curious about vectors.
